From the start of our venture, we knew that finding the right fabric would be key in making a quality product. The fabric had to have the lowest environmental impact available, yet provide all the properties of a high-end product. Creating a quality item would ensure durability and longevity, allowing you to enjoy the swimwear for a longer period of time.
Here are some of our tried and tested tips for taking care of Little Ocean Heroes swim shorts that will allow you to enjoy the swimwear for a longer period of time!
Always rinse with fresh water after every use (even if you did not use them to swim) to get rid of chlorine, salt water and any sun screen that might have gotten onto your shorts! This will help prolong the colors of the swimwear.
Hand wash the swimwear with mild detergent! (Pro Tip: Dilute some mild detergent or baby shampoo with water and let your swimwear soak for a few minutes only - NOT overnight, rinse well in cold water). Avoid harsh detergents as these can compromise the fabric, the color changing feature and the elasticity.
Do not wash in the machine to prolong the color changing feature!
Do not use bleach or stain removers
Hang to dry in the shade. This will prolong the color changing feature and prevent premature color fading.
We recommend drying flat, particularly if the item has a lot of elasticity as this prevents the garment from stretching and compromising its shape
